The forces of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi-led coalition, managed to kill and injure dozens of Saudi servicemen in the border areas of the northwestern province of Jawf.
In a massive operation by the Yemeni forces north of the border district of Midi in Jawf Province, dozens of Saudi military members were killed or injured, Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen news channel reported on Saturday.
The Yemeni army and Popular Committees also mounted artillery attacks against the positions of the Sudanese forces and the mercenaries of fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh, inflicting heavy casualties on them.
In the operations also in Jawf Province, 10 mercenaries of Mansour Hadi were killed or injured.
The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former president.
According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
