Fighting continued between the Filipino military and militants in the city of Marawi. Civilians held hostage by militants have been forced to loot homes, take up arms against government troops and serve as sex slaves for rebel fighters. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced from Marawi City due to the ongoing clashes between the military and members of the Maute group.
