Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kana’ani underlined that the child-killing monstrous Israeli regime repeatedly appears in the Palestinian school children’s dreams, and said that Europe also has to look at its horrific history.
“The Zionist criminal regime destroyed a Palestinian children’s school yesterday,” Kana’ani wrote in a post on his Twitter account.
Kana’ani’s remarks came after at least 13 Palestinians, including four children and four women, were killed and 20 others were injured in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip in early hours of Tuesday morning.
“Israel is the child-killing monster that constantly appears in the nightmares of Palestinian children,” the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman added.
In another post, Kana’ani reacted to a tweet posted by the Swedish Embassy in Tehran on Europe Day which is considered intervention in Iran’s internal affairs, and said “Europe Day is a time to think about the terrible results of the actions of some European states who claim to be advocates of human rights that in their use of human rights as political means, intervention in the internal affairs of other countries, in their political and instrumental use of terrorist groups, their support for the occupying regime of Israel against the Palestinian nation and their accompanying with inhumane sanctions that America has imposed against the people of Iran.”
Israel has been grappling with grave domestic and international crises in recent months. The occupied territories have been the scene of massive rallies for the past 18 consecutive weeks over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial overhaul. Netanyahu forced to announce a “pause” in legislation for the reforms in late March, following weeks of mass rallies and a general strike, but Israeli demonstrators continue anti-gov’t protests.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Iranian official noted that silence and inaction of international organizations and Western countries towards Israel’s “inhumane acts”, which have been intensified against the Palestinian people in recent months, have emboldened the Tel Aviv regime to continue its crimes.
“That will be recorded in history as a shameful precedent by the false advocates of human rights,” the spokesperson continued.
The senior official also called for “an immediate, effective, deterrent and coordinated action by the Islamic countries” to stop the Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people.
Over the past months, Israel has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives and many others have been arrested.
With the latest killings, the Israeli forces have shot and killed at least 100 Palestinians since the start of the year, including minors and women, according to reports.
Some 171 Palestinians, including more than 30 children, were killed by the Israeli forces in the West Bank last year. At least 9,000 others were injured as well.
The United Nations marked 2022 as the deadliest year for Palestinians in the West Bank in 16 years.
