Iran’s foreign ministry underlined that the resistance movement is the only option to prevent the spread of terrorism and occupation.
The Iranian foreign ministry made the remarks on a Twitter message on Monday night, 25 May to extend congratulations to the Lebanese government and people on the 20th anniversary of victory over the Zionists and their expulsion from South Lebanon.
The message added resistance strategy is the only option against terrorism, occupation, hegemony, and will be a path for liberation of Quds and all other occupied territories.
On May 24, 2000, Israel completely withdrew its troops from Southern Lebanon, with the following day marked as a celebration.
In relevant remarks on Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif congratulated the anniversary of the liberation of Southern Lebanon in separate messages to Secretary General of Hezbollah Resistance Movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah and Lebanese Foreign Minister Nassif Youssef Hitti.
Zarif said the integration of the Lebanese people, government, army and Resistance are the key to victories against Zionist enemies and wished dignity and success for the Lebanese government and nation.
Also on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani in separate messages to his Lebanese counterpart Nabih Berri and Hezbollah Chief Seyed Hassan Nasrallah congratulated the Resistance and Liberation Day in Lebanon.
Larijani in his messages felicitated the 20th anniversary of the end of Israel’s two-decade-long occupation of Southern Lebanon, known as Resistance and Liberation day.
In his message to Berri, he named the event as a turning point in the history of the region which proves Lebanese resistance against the Zionist regime and illustrates the futility of the occupiers.
“The liberation of Lebanese lands is a shining point in the history of the Islamic resistance’s struggle against the Zionist regime,” Larijani wrote in his message to Nasrallah.
“I would like to express my sincere congratulations on the anniversary of the liberation of the occupied territories of southern Lebanon to you and the fighters of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance,” he added.
Also, on Sunday and in a message to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani congratulated Lebanese nation and government on the same occasion.
“Today, I sincerely congratulate your Excellency, the government and the people of your country on the great and proud victory of the Lebanese people over the Zionist occupiers,” Rouhani’s message read.
