Mosques have been closed in Turkmenistan temporarily following a decision made under the government’s action plan for acute infectious diseases preparedness.
Mosques will remain closed until July 23, arzuw.news reported with reference to Turkmenistan’s Mufti Office.
The WHO mission in the country earlier recommended the government adopt key measures like those in case of COVID-19 circulation in the country.
The coronavirus outbreak has infected over 13.7 million people around the world. The global death toll from the pandemic is now more than 587,000.
Turkmenistan has not reported any coronavirus infections in the country.
