The Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in a retaliatory attack against the Saudi-led coalition, pounded the kingdom’s military positions in the southwestern province of Najran, killing seven Saudi servicemen.
The Yemeni army’s troops on Friday attacked a newly established military base of Saudi Arabia in Najran, the Arabic language al-Masirah TV reported.
During the operation, the Yemeni forces managed to destroy a military vehicle of the Saudi servicemen and kill seven of them, including an officer.
The Yemeni forces also hit other positions of the Saudi army in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan.
The attacks by the Yemeni forces were carried out in retaliation for the continued massacre of civilians by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.
Since March 25, 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president.
According to Yemen’s Legal Center of Rights and Development, the Saudi campaign has claimed the lives of over 12,000 Yemenis and left more than 20,000 others wounded.
