The Syrian warplanes launched massive airstrikes against strongholds of the rebel groups in different parts of the Northwestern province of Idlib, and prevented their infiltration attempts into the army positions, informed sources said.
The sources said that the country’s air force’s operations against the militant groups in the nearby areas of Abu Al-Duhour, Mareyan, Kansafra, Elin, Jazaf, al-Tamanaa, al-Hbeit and Skeik forced them to retreat their forces in some spots and foiled their infiltration attempts in some other locations.
On Saturday, Syria’s popular defense forces of the Shiite-populated town of Foa killed nearly two dozen Takfiri terrorists and injured many more.
At least 23 Al-Nusra Front terrorists were killed in Foa town in Idlib countryside.
The Syrian popular defense forces also seized the nearby town of Kafria.
The operations by the Syrian popular forces came after they found out about the terrorists’ intention to dig tunnels in Foa and Kafria.
