Top Lebanese cleric slammed Wahhabism and Shirazi movement as factors behind destruction of ties among Muslims.
Sheikh Maher Hamoud, head of the International Union of Resistance Scholars, in his Friday sermon in Al Quds Mosque, Sidon stressed necessity of Islamic movements’ commitment to the resistance and denounced Wahhabism as the executive agent for western intrigues against Islam, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said clashes among Muslims are sparked by Satan and each one of Islamic groups claim to be the sole representative of the holy religion excommunicating other groups.
Sunni cleric added,” Extremist Shia and Sunni groups are ruining the unifying efforts while Wahhabism and radical Shirazi movement are busy spreading lies projecting Islam in a way that matches only their condition.”
Sheikh Maher Hamoud stressed that division in the Islamic community is in line with western intrigue against Islam and noted,” These intrigues are plotted in London, Washington and Tel Aviv performed by some Islamic movements and loyal individuals.”
Head of the International Union of Resistance Scholars stressed necessity of halting political accusations and mockery and said,” He who pursues proving his denomination, group or party should submit a respectable achievement to the nation and not clinging to vain arguments.”
Lebanese cleric concluded his sermon with denunciation of the recent Saudi invasion on Yemen and said,” Massacre of the citizens is in no way justified in an Islamic denomination or humane thought.”
