Former Israeli Chief of Staff admits: Our bombs killed prisoners in Gaza

Date:

Former Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi admitted that some prisoners held in Gaza were killed by Israeli bombing, describing the October 7 attack as a preventable failure.

In a speech yesterday, Sunday, at a conference organized by the Shurat HaDin group in New York City, Halevi admitted that some of the prisoners held by Palestinian factions were killed in the airstrikes, claiming that the forces were unaware of their presence at the targeted locations.

“Our bombs killed the hostages, and we didn’t know they were there,” Halevi said, claiming that military pressure on Gaza contributed to the release of the prisoners, despite acknowledging that a number of them were killed in the bombing.

Palestinian factions led by Hamas captured 251 people during Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.
