Yemeni Economy Ministry condemns Saudi airstrike on plastic footwear factory in Taiz

Date:

Yemen’s Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment condemned a Saudi airstrike on Al-Qudsi Plastic Footwear Factory in Al-Taiziyah district, Taiz province, which killed three workers, injured seven others and caused fires that damaged the factory’s equipment and machinery, forcing it out of operation.

In a statement, the ministry described the Saudi attack as a crime against the industrial sector and a blow to the national economy and citizens’ livelihoods.

It said attacks on industrial and commercial facilities amounted to an escalation of economic warfare and worsened the effects of the blockade.

The ministry held the Saudi regime fully responsible for the human and economic losses, described the targeting of civilian facilities as a violation of international humanitarian law, and called on the international community and relevant organizations to investigate the incident and hold those responsible accountable.
