The first in a series of academic pre-conferences on the “School of Resistance” was held under the theme “The Theology of Resistance from the Perspective of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah,” at the conference hall of the Imam Sadiq (peace be upon him) Research Institute.
The seminar was organized to elucidate the intellectual, doctrinal and epistemological foundations of the School of Resistance and to examine the strategic thought of Martyr Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, seeking to analyze the theological and religious dimensions of the resistance discourse through the lens of the late Hezbollah leader’s intellectual framework.
The series of pre-conferences is seen as an opportunity for scholarly examination of the theoretical foundations of resistance, clarification of the link between religious teachings and the struggle against the system of domination, and a re-reading of the thoughts of leaders of the resistance front in confronting developments across the Islamic world.
The seminar brought together researchers and academics specializing in theology, political thought and resistance studies, who presented papers on the religious underpinnings of the resistance movement and the ways in which martyr Nasrallah articulated its moral and spiritual dimensions.
Speakers at the event stressed that the School of Resistance is not merely a political or military phenomenon but is rooted in a comprehensive theological worldview that draws on Islamic principles of justice, dignity and steadfastness in the face of oppression.
Participants also discussed how martyr Nasrallah’s thought integrated religious commitment with strategic pragmatism, framing resistance as both a religious duty and a rational response to external domination.
Organizers said further sessions in the series will address other dimensions of the School of Resistance, including its jurisprudential foundations, its approach to media and cultural struggle, and its vision for the future of the Islamic world. The pre-conferences are expected to culminate in a final conference that will synthesize the findings of the various panels.
The event was attended by scholars and researchers from a range of disciplines, reflecting growing academic interest in the intellectual and theological dimensions of the resistance movement and its leading figures.
