Human Rights Organizations Condemn Saudi Crimes in Taiz, Marib
National bodies and human rights organizations have strongly condemned attacks and military mobilizations by the Saudi enemy in Taiz and Marib governorates on Sunday, describing them as part of a systematic pattern of violations targeting civilians and residential areas across Yemen and amounting to war crimes.
Hawzah News Agency- The authority stressed that these systematic violations constitute fully fledged war crimes under Article 8 of the Rome Statute and flagrantly violate Article 51 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, which prohibits attacks against civilians.
It said targeting telecommunications networks, civilian homes and farms constitutes an attempt to paralyze civilian life and amounts to internationally prohibited collective punishment.
The organization said the attack represents another episode in the systematic violations targeting civilians and residential neighborhoods, warning that direct shelling of homes particularly endangers women and children and deprives families of security and stability.
It held the Saudi regime and its mercenaries fully legally and criminally responsible, urging the United Nations, the UN Human Rights Office and the International Committee of the Red Cross to end their silence and fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities.
Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen in March 2015, triggering years of airstrikes, a blockade, and widespread destruction that have taken a devastating toll on civilians and civilian infrastructure. Women and children have repeatedly been among those killed and injured.
Sana’a continues to hold the Saudi regime and its international backers responsible for the humanitarian consequences of the war, while criticizing the international community for failing to take meaningful action to stop the attacks and ensure accountability. Yemen maintains that ending the aggression and lifting the blockade are essential steps toward peace.
It held the Saudi enemy fully legally and criminally responsible for these violations and their consequences, while also holding the international community, the United Nations and the Security Council accountable for their continued failure to address Saudi crimes against civilians.
