TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (YPA) – An Iranian delegation traveled to Doha on Saturday, according to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency citing informed sources, while clarifying that “no negotiations with the United States are currently on the table in Qatar.”
Sources told the agency that the delegation’s visit aims to advance recent discussions held with Qatari officials.
Earlier, a Qatari delegation led by the Senior Advisor to the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs held meetings in Tehran, coordinated with Washington, to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, and mediation between Iran and the United States.
Concurrently, US news outlet Axios reported that an Iranian delegation would head to Doha on Saturday to continue negotiations toward a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran.
Axios quoted a diplomatic source stating, “Qatari negotiators are leaving Tehran for Doha following a day of talks regarding a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran.”
However, a senior Iranian official stated last Wednesday that Qatar had not presented any new proposals to Tehran, but rather put forward “unacceptable ideas.” The official added that Iran “will not demonstrate any flexibility regarding the nuclear file.”
These developments occur amid heightened diplomatic activity aimed at de-escalating regional tensions, following threats of military action against Iran and Tehran’s warning of a retaliatory response.
